This policy explains how Balliol Group ("we", "us") collects, uses, and protects personal information submitted through this website. It is written to comply with the UK General Data Protection Regulation (UK GDPR) and the Data Protection Act 2018.
Balliol Group is a London-based recruitment practice and private events host. We act as the data controller for personal data submitted through this website.
For any privacy-related question, contact us at contact@balliolgroup.com.
We only collect what you give us through the forms on this site. We do not use cookies, analytics, or tracking of any kind.
Contact form: name, phone number, email address, and the message you write.
Register Interest form: email address, occupation, company, and (if applicable) subject studied at university.
The lawful basis for processing your data is your consent. You have voluntarily submitted the form to make contact with us or to express interest in our events.
We use the data only for the purpose for which you gave it to us:
Contact form submissions are used to reply to your enquiry. We do not add you to any list without first asking your permission in our reply.
Register Interest submissions are kept on file so we can invite you to relevant networking events as they are announced, and where appropriate, let you know about job opportunities, introductions, or future gatherings that match your background.
When you submit a form, you will receive a single automated confirmation email letting you know we have received your details. We do not send sequences, newsletters, or marketing automations.
Access to your data is limited to the founder of Balliol Group. Where professionally necessary (for example, in connection with legal advice or due diligence), your data may be shared in confidence with our external lawyer. We do not sell, trade, or share your data with any other third party.
Form submissions are delivered to us via Formspree, a form-handling service based in the United States. Formspree forwards each submission to our private inbox and does not retain it for marketing purposes. Their privacy policy is available at formspree.io/legal/privacy-policy.
Once received, your data is stored locally on our own equipment in the United Kingdom, alongside written records kept securely. Data is not uploaded to public cloud services.
If you submit a form from outside the United Kingdom, your data will be transferred to and processed in the UK and, through Formspree, transit through the United States. Both jurisdictions have data protection frameworks recognised by the UK government.
We retain your data until you ask us to remove it. There is no fixed deletion date, but you may request removal at any time, and we will action your request promptly.
Under UK GDPR you have the right to:
· request a copy of the personal data we hold about you
· ask us to correct anything inaccurate
· ask us to delete your data ("right to be forgotten")
· withdraw your consent at any time
· object to how we process your data
· lodge a complaint with the UK Information Commissioner's Office (ico.org.uk) if you believe your rights have been breached.
To exercise any of these rights, email contact@balliolgroup.com. We will respond within 30 days.
We take reasonable steps to keep your data secure. This includes access controls on our devices, secure email handling, and the use of reputable processors for form delivery. No system is ever completely immune to risk, but we treat your data with the same discretion we extend to every client relationship.
If we change how we handle data, for example by introducing analytics, an email marketing tool, or a new third-party service, we will update this policy and revise the "Last updated" date above. Material changes will be reflected here before any new processing begins.
Where the change is material and affects how we use information you have already given us, we will also notify you directly by email at the address you provided. You will always have the opportunity to withdraw your consent or request deletion of your data before any new processing takes effect.
